Updated: 2009-10-21 12:44:48
A grand opening of the Thomas Station Trail and pedestrian bridge over Center Creek will take place in Carl Junction beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. Limited parking will be available at the Third Street Trailhead as well as along Briarbrook Drive (Be sure not to block driveways).

The trail for pedestrians and bicyclists extends from the north end of Briarbrook Drive across Center Creek to Third Street near downtown Carl Junction. It is part of the project for a region-wide system of trails supported by the cities of Carthage, Joplin, Oronogo and Webb City that began in 1998.

Come out for breakfast

A breakfast will be served from 7-10 a.m. at the Carl Junction Senior Center, 1203 E. Pennell. The cost is $6 per adult and $4 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will be used for the support of the center.
