Websites devoted to providing links to information dealing with problems faced after a major storm have been set up by branches of the University of Missouri Extension. Topics run the gamut from food, water and people safety to saving trees after the winds die down, Missouri's fencing law, how cattle and insulation don't mix, and what is a proper storm shelter.

A little knowledge may be a dangerous thing, but no knowledge may be fatal. Knowing the safest spot to be when a tornado strikes or being prepared in its aftermath are subjects that few people seem to take seriously enough.
