Help stamp out hunger; bid on a guitar ma-earth
Updated: 2006-12-14 19:11:11
As of 5:30 p.m. CST, $1,000.00 was the current winning bid for a collection of autographed memorabilia that features a Hard Rock acoustic guitar signed by Kenny Chesney, Jon Bon Jovi, the Goo Goo Dolls and Melisa Etheridge. The autographed guitar and three individually autographed CDs signed by Good Charlotte, DMC and Ray LaMontagne will go to the highest bidder for Hungerthon, an auction to benefit the work of World Hunger Year (WHY), a leading advocate for community-based solutions to hunger and poverty around the world. Just over 24 days are left in the bidding process.

Visitors to the Hard Rock Cafe in New York may round up their tabs to the nearest dollar or more to benefit the work of WHY. Donations by credit card to WHY, a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, may be made here.

Contributors will receive a Hungerthon/Hard Rock Café designed lapel pin for a donation of $25 or more, a Hungerthon/Hard Rock Café 2006 T-shirt for a donation of $50 or more or a sweatshirt for $75 or more. New this year, for a donation of $30 or more contributors also could receive The All-star Serve CD which features tracks by Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, DMC and The Strokes. Serve CDs are available while supplies last.
