Gockel Symposium focuses on U.S.-Mexico relations

"New Horizons in U.S.-Mexico Relations" was the topic of the Harry and Bernice Gockel International Symposium held September 20, 2005, as part of the Mexico Semester at Missouri Southern State University. Prepared to answer questions from the audience were speakers Loretta Bondi (at left) and Armand Peschard-Sverdrup (at right). Bondi is an independent researcher and advocate specializing in human rights issues. Peschard-Sverdrup is director of the Mexico Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. The moderator (center) was Dr. Thomas W. Simpson, professor of political science at Southern and director of its regional economic development center.
