| How sad that the Joplin Daily.com is no more. If anything, its presence encouraged the Globe to cover more local news. Folks might remember the late 80s, early 90s when Joplin's hometown paper ran AP stuff to the exclusion of what might have been happening under their noses.
But "exclusively Joplin" was a mistake on the Daily's part...and publishing a hard copy to promote their website was an equally baffling decision, especially when they failed to get top ranking in the search engines.
Everyone posting comments on The Turner Report recently regarding whether John Hacker was or was not a good editor should take into account that he was hired to do all, be all, a stressful feat that with all the fast food he ate on the run surely would have sent him to an early grave.
So, good luck to Hacker in his new position at the Carthage Press. Hope you now have time for chomping on a literal or figurative green vegetable or two.
