Pete Rahn resigns

JEFFERSON CITY - Pete Rahn, pictured, director of the Missouri Department of Transportation since September 2004, tendered his resignation yesterday (March 24, 2010), according to a statement made by The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. His resignation will be effective April 23, 2010.

Rahn has accepted the position of senior vice president with HNTB (formerly Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff), a Kansas City, MO-based engineering firm. He will lead the national transportation practice.

Interim director is named

Kevin Keith has been selected as interim director and will serve until a permanent director is selected following a national search that could take several months. Chief engineer since 2001 and a member of the staff for 25 years, Keith has been recognized for his Practical Design approach to customer relations, a concept that has saved the department $500 million.
