Scraps from scrubs made into wall hanging
May 30, 2012
At left, quilter Sue Johnson presents a wall hanging to Cate Loch, outgoing president of the Joplin Area Welcome Club, at their monthly luncheon recently. The hanging, made from leftover fabric from scrubs, will be framed and donated to Mercy Hospital Joplin. Loch had headed a drive for scrubs after the May 22, 2011 tornado that brought in about 4,000 donations, first from people to whom she was connected and later from groups from all over the country, in particular an initiative of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
