| Economic Security Corporation of Southwest Area (ESC) announced today that they are currently seeking applicants for their home rehabilitation project in Webb City. Applications will be available, Monday, Feb. 22, 2010.
Through the HOME Repair Program (HERO), selected applicants will receive needed home improvements at no cost. Improvements could include, but are not limited to, roof repair or replacement, bathroom remodeling, window replacement and porch repairs.
Applicants for the project MUST meet eligibility criteria: Clients must live within the city limits of Webb City. Clients must meet income eligibility guidelines that are based on a sliding scale (Example: A single person household can have a gross income of no more than $26,800 annually, a three-person household can earn no more than $34,450). The property must be occupied by an income-eligible homeowner and be the owner’s principle residence. The property must be located on less than 10 acres of land. Mobile homes cannot be located on leased or rented land, must be permanently attached to the land by means of a poured concrete foundation, permanently attached to utilities, and the wheels, axles, and hitch must be removed.
Priority in the program will be given to elderly heads of households, 65 or over.

The program, sponsored by the Missouri Housing Development Commission, is also available to eligible owner-occupied clients from Barton and McDonald counties. Clients must live in either county and must meet income eligibility guidelines that are based on a sliding scale. (Example: A single person household in McDonald County can have a gross income of no more than $24,900 annually, a three-person household in Barton County can earn no more than $33,000).
