NAMI offices change location

In order to better serve the community, NAMI Joplin (National Alliance on Mental Illness) has announced that they have moved their offices to 219 W. 2nd Street in Joplin.

A nonprofit organization, MAMI Joplin is dedicated to breaking the stigma associated with mental illness and providing information, encouragement, education, and support opportunities to consumers (those afflicted with brain disorders), their families, mental health care providers and the community in Joplin and the surrounding area.

NAMI holds weekly support groups for consumers, and support groups for families dealing with adult consumers and parents of children and adolescents. It also provides free education to families of adult consumers, parents of children and adolescents, and consumers. Training is also available for mental health care front line staff. Trained consumers who are available to speak at community events to tell in their own words about living with mental illness, their experiences and their path to recovery.
