Crime Stoppers alert:: Robbery suspect sought

Crime Stoppers and the Joplin Police Department are requesting assistance in identifying a suspect in several commercial burglaries.

The suspect is a white male approximately 505 to 510 with a thin build. He owns cross trainer type blue/black and white tennis shoes, blue jeans, gray or dark colored jacket with blue/black and white athletic type gloves possibly batting gloves. He also has worn a gray full face stocking cap with black around the bottom of the cap and uses a black backpack to carry and conceal his tools and stolen property.

The suspect has committed approximately 15 burglaries since September 2009. The crimes are committed usually between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m. The locations of these crimes have been generally confined to Range Line Road or East 7th Street; however, he has struck twice on South Main Street.

The suspects M.O. is to remove a pane of glass or the entire glass door to gain entry. He does this by removing the molding and seal around the glass and then removing the window. He then enters the business and steals property such as computers, jewelry, or cash money. He has knowledge of, or prior experience\employment, working with glass and would be in possession of appropriate tools.
