| George Washington Carver National Monument is pleased to offer a new program to support and encourage community health and well-being. Join us for the first “Walk with a Doc” program this spring. Discover the nature and history of George Washington Carver National Monument from a national park ranger, while getting a brief informative talk by a Freeman Health System doctor. This free hour long program will begin on Saturday, Mar. 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the park’s Visitor Center.
This special program is part of the National Park Service’s “A Call to Action” centennial campaign to connect the American people to their parks. This program was created in response to the Call to Action #6: “Take a Hike and Call Me in the Morning”. Participants will be able to learn more about health issues, improve fitness, and enjoy their national park.
George Washington Carver National Monument is located at 5646 Carver Rd., approximately two miles west of Diamond. The park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact the park at (417) 325-4151 or like us on Facebook here.
