The line-up includes:
- The day will also feature the Second Baptist Church Choir at 10 a.m. and InCourage at 10:30 a.m.
- Memphis gospel blues artist Reverend John Wilkins and his band return to Carver Day for two sets at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Reverend John has toured the world performing his music, and he was recently featured in a PBS documentary recorded at the famous Sun Studio in Memphis. He is the son of Robert Wilkins, a renowned bluesman whose songs have been covered by the Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters and Johnny Winter.
- The Roz Gospel Trio from Kansas City will perform at noon. A very successful singer, songwriter and vocal coach, Roz McCommon has recorded several genre bending CDs featuring jazz, gospel and R&B.
- Springfields Sensational Wonders will close out the day with a spirited set at 2 p.m.
More acts may be added. The music schedule is subject to change.
Other activities scheduled throughout the day include guest authors Audrey Peterman and Toby Warren, exhibitors, guided tours, educational programs, childrens activities, Junior Ranger station, and much more. The Bright Star Theater will present an original black history play, Lift Every Voice: The Black Experience in the Heartland at noon and 2:30 p.m. The Diamond Lions Club will provide a food concession.
The National Park Services A Call to Action Strategic Plan charts a path toward the 2016 centennial of the National Park Service. One action concept, History Lesson, showcases the meaning of parks to new audiences and provides an opportunity for communities to learn more about their heritage. In response, Carver Day celebrates the African American experience through guest speakers, storytelling, music, and educational programs.
Carver Day is co-sponsored by the Carver Birthplace Association. George Washington Carver National Monument preserves the birthplace and childhood home of George Washington Carver. The park is located two miles west of Diamond, Missouri, on Highway V, then south mile on Carver Road.
