WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) praised a move by a federal judge in Texas who issued a preliminary injunction against President Barack Obamas executive action on immigration.

In December 2014, Blunt joined an amicus brief led by U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (Texas) and co-signed by U.S. Senator John Cornyn (Texas) in support of the lawsuit brought by the State of Texas against President Obamas illegal amnesty.

The president cannot continue to blatantly ignore the nations laws and the Constitution. This ruling reaffirms that President Obama was right when he said at least 22 times he didnt have the authority to take this action on immigration, said Blunt. Ill keep fighting to stop President Obamas illegal amnesty. Its time for Senate Democrats to join us in standing up for the rule of law and to begin debate on the bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security.

In January 2015, Blunt reintroduced the ENFORCE the Law Act, which would ensure the president upholds his constitutional obligation to take care that the laws be faithfully executed.
