Reading group encourages community participation

JOPLIN (SNS) - The play A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry and her autobiography, To Be Young, Gifted and Black are the titles to be read and discussed at the next sessions of the Literary Lions Book Club. Dr. Jim Lile, associate professor of theatre at Missouri Southern State University will moderate. The community is invited to participate.

Meetings will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. downstairs in Missouri Southern's Spiva Library near the Java Coffee Shop. The dates are:

Participants, who will be distributed individual copies of the titles, will be asked to donate them back to the Spiva Library.

The total cost to participate is $25 for the general public or $15 for members of Friends of the Spiva Library. The opportunity to participate is limited to the first 15 participants. Those interested should respond as quickly as possible.
