"The Energy Problem: Choices for an Uncertain Future" is the topic of the next National Issues Forum locally to be conducted by Dr. Ann Wyman, a professor of social science at Missouri Southern State University. The community is invited to gather to learn about this issue affecting everyone and to create a reasoned public voice.

Meetings will be held in the fireplace area on the main floor of Spiva Library at Missouri Southern.

Participants will read a brief brochure on background facts prepared by the non-partisan Kettering Foundation, and then talk informally about various approaches to the problem. There is no fee to participate, but reservations are mandatory.

The following dates and times have been scheduled:

  • Thursday, Mar. 27; 6-8 p.m.

  • Wednesday, Apr. 2; 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 6-8 p.m

  • Thursday, Apr. 3; 3:30-5:30 p.m.

  • Monday, Apr. 7; 6-8 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Apr. 8; 7-9 p.m.

Additional sessions will be scheduled as needed. Sessions may be arranged for community organizations, church groups, etc., by special request.

To reserve a place, contact Wyman at (417) 625-9697 or by e-mail; Dr. Steve Smith at (417) 625-3008 or by e-mail; or Dr. John Knapp at (417) 625-9720 or by e-mail.
