Springfield – The Association for Education of Young Children (AEYC) – MO will hold its state conference September 23-24, 2011, at the East Sunshine Church of Christ, 3721 E. Sunshine. Check-in/registration on Friday is from 11 a.m. to noon when the first session begins. On Saturday check-in/registration is from 7:30-8:45 a.m. while breakfast with exhibitors takes place. The first session on Saturday begins at 9 a.m.

The event is open to the public and considered of particular interest to parents and educators of children from birth to 8-years-old. A wide variety of sessions will be presented. Registration is $25 to $115 with reduced rates prior to September 1.

Keynote speakers include award-winning children’s book author Carol McCloud, author of the Have you Filled a Bucket Today? and Fill a Bucket and Dr. Brad Mears, associate professor in the kinesiology department at the University of Central Missouri. Mears is a leading researcher specializing in developmental neurology, autism and neuro-education. Fifty-three break-out sessions are planned.

AEYC-MO is the state affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the largest early childhood professional organization in the nation.
