Veterans to gather at gala in Branson schantag

More than 600 veterans, their families and friends are expected to attend the 14th Annual Military Gala & Banquet to be held November 8, 2010 at the Chateau on the Lake in Branson. Highlighting the event that is hosted by the P.O.W. Network is the performance of the USAF Tops in Blue, a POW/MIA candlelight service, a veterans' salute and fireworks.

A cash bar and social hour will begin the evening at 5 p.m. followed by a salute at 6 p.m. in the grand ballroom that includes the Mozark MOAA's True American Hero Award. Fireworks will take place outdoors at approximately 8 p.m. after dinner (reserved seating only). Master of ceremonies is Erwin Schultze, national service officer for the Disabled American Veterans. Commander Mike Jones, USN (ret.) will be chaplain and the colors will be presented by a Joint Service Command Color Guard from Fort Leonard Wood.

Tops in Blue concert is free to the public

The public is invited to a free performance by Tops in Blue; doors will open to the public at 8 p.m. Thirty-one active duty airmen make up the amateur band that has traveled around the world to raise the morale of troops and inspire patriotism.
