An open casting call will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in Springfield, MO on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at the Landers Theatre, 311 E. Walnut, 4th floor. The Missouri Film Commission is looking for a slim boy, 7 to 10-years-old to try out for the co-lead role in a new feature film entitled, The Road.

The film will star Viggo Mortensen of Lord of the Rings fame. It is an adaptation of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Directed by John Hillcoat, the film will shoot in February 2008 at a location yet to be determined.

The Road is the story of a man and his son as they experience the devastation of a post-apocalyptic world yet are sustained by the love that exists between them.
