| An $11,000 grant to replace the 80-year-old fire escape doors off the balcony of the Coleman Theatre in Miami, OK is being solicited from the manufacturers of Hamberger Helper. Winning it depends upon the merit of the project. Of special significance is the project's impact on the community.
To promote their product and to help projects large and small in hometowns across America, Hamburger Helper claims to be giving away up to $100,000 in 2008. Since the grant's inception in October 2006, they say that 53 communities were helped for a total of $232,542.
Other Oklahoma communities that have received grants include the town of Vici for replacing old fire fighting equipment, the Altus public schools for playground equipment, and Jay for an outdoor warning system.

Restoration of the Coleman Theatre has been a "labor of love" since 1989 when the Coleman family donated the historic structure on Route 66 to the city of Miami. Most of the renovations have been accomplished through the sweat and tears of volunteers.
[Right. We know what you're thinking: It's a chintzy way for this company to be promoting its product but a spokesperson for the Coleman says they "really need the money. Of course, somebody out there in agreement with the self-serving nature of the award process could just send the Coleman a sizeable contribution. Make checks payable to the Coleman Theatre and mail them to 103 N. Main, Miami, OK 74354.]
