| The Fort Scott, KS Good Ol'Days Celebration in June will feature events that are nothing like anything that has come to the Fort Scott area ever before. According to an announcement by Vicki Pritchett of the Fort Scott Chamber of Commerce, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be arriving in their city on June 2, 2008 for a week-long visit and will be stabled at the Fort Scott National Historic Site.
Beginning with free exhibitions performed by the Cydesdales and their handlers on June 4 and 5 at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds arena, 2102 S. Huntington Blvd. that feature both the intricate hitching procedure and the horses' maneuvering abilities, these special guests will then be leading the Good Ol'Days parade beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 6. During the celebration in town on Saturday, June 7 visitors will be given an opportunity to pose with the horses.
Weekend admission for the Good Ol'Days celebration is $3 per adult, $1 per child with those five and under free.
Sponsors for the annual event are still being sought. For more details contact the chamber at (620) 223-3566 or go here.
