MADD is incensed over Grand Theft Auto IV

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has a bone to pick with Rockstar Games, and the manufacturers of Grand Theft Auto IV. They are calling upon the Entertainment Software Ratings Board to reclassify the game after discovering that it contains a module for xbox 360 and Playstation 3 users where players have to drive drunk.

Currently, the game is rated "mature." MADD wants a rating of "adults only" and even has asked the manufacturer to consider a stop in distribution, they say, "if not out of responsibility to society then out of respect for the millions of victims/survivors of drunk driving."

The rating of "mature" was issued for the game's "blood, intense violence, partial nudity, strong language and sexual content, use of alcohol and drugs.

MADD has called drunk driving "not a game" and "not a joke," citing that drunk driving is a choice to potentially commit a violent crime that is 100 percent preventable. Statistics show that each year nearly 13,500 people die in drunk driving crashes and another half million are injured.
