| "The economic and social benefits of sustainable practices" will be the focus of the 3rd Annual E-Conference (energy, environment and green building efficiency) to be held Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, in the Elsie Plaster Community Center, Crowder College, Neosho. Special emphasis will be on green building/rebuilding as a result of the devastation caused by the tornado that struck the greater Neosho area on May 10, 2008.
Keynote speakers will be Doug Fine, NPR correspondent and author of Farewell My Subaru and Greensburg, KS Mayor Bob Dixson. Greensburg received considerable recognition for their efforts in sustainable rebuilding after the May 4, 2007 tornado that leveled their city, including being the subject of a series airing this summer on Planet Green Network.
Local, Area, Regional and National experts will offer break-out sessions on subjects related to alternative/renewable energy, the environment, green building efficiency and sustainable practices.
The E-Conference is sponsored by the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce, Crowder College, CableNet Advertising Services, Community Bank & Trust, Eastern Shawnee Longhouse Management Authority, Empire District Electric, Missouri Gas Energy and New-Mac Electric.
Cost for the conference is $15.00 per day. Lunch is included in the cost.
