| Thirty Marine recruits will be assisting with the construction of the first Habitat for Humanity house in Carthage at 230 N.Maple. The work session on Saturday, July 19, 2008 is an opportunity for them to participate in a community effort before they attend boot camp.
This Habitat house will be a home for Lori Byrd and her five children. It is the 26th house being built by the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity in its 19 years of home construction.
If anyone would like to make a contribution to this project, please contact the Habitat office at (417) 782-6533 or Debbie Ralston in person at Hometown Bank, 2435 Fairlawn Dr., Carthage, or by phoning her at (417) 359-2183.
Lunch will be provided by Bill Hood at the United Methodist Church. Culligan Bottled Water is providing water for the day's work.
