Lunch Buddies program seeks volunteers staff
Updated: 2009-10-17 10:42:51
The Joplin R-8 school system together with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jasper and Newton Counties (BBBSJN) have announced the need for volunteers for their Lunch Buddies mentoring program.

Acting as positive role models, friends or confidants, Lunch Buddies are being asked to spend about 45 minutes per week with an at-risk student. Volunteers, who must commit to the program for the entire school year, spend time with a designated student during lunch or recess at a local elementary or middle school. Ideally, volunteers will continue with the same student from year to year throughout student's school career.

All applicants must agree to a background screening as part of an application process with BBBSJN. For more information contact Don Greenley at (417) 626-9244 or send an e-mail here.
