The First Annual Tree Remembrance Ceremony will take place beginning at 6 p.m. on December 5, 2009, at the Northpark Mall in Joplin. Purchasing a light on the tree is a way to pay homage to a pet and at the same time benefit the Joplin Humane Society.
A fee of $5.00 per pet gets a beloved animal friend represented on the tree, their name read in the ceremony and also displayed on the memory page of the Joplin Humane Society website.
The ceremony will begin with a poem followed by the lighting of the tree, reading of the names and a final tribute. The ceremony will be followed by Remember the Holidays Pet Photos with Santa.
Checks should be made payable to the JHS TREE. Send it along with the completed Tree of Remembrance form (found on the Joplin Humane Society webpage) to: Joplin Humane Society, Inc., Suite 314, 211 S. Main St., Joplin, MO 64801
