Updated: 2010-01-07 16:27:02
Jacque Gage of Lamar, currently director of the Barton County Public Library, a rural system that includes the towns of Lamar, Liberal and Golden City, will become the director of the Joplin Public Library effective February 1, 2010. The announcement was made by Jim Fleischaker, president of the JPL Board of Directors. She replaces Susan Wray who resigned to take a position in Kansas City, MO.

Gage received a degree in Christian education from Ozark Christian College and a master's in library science. She completed a practicum in 2006 under the guidance of Wendy McGrane, director of Missouri Southern State University's Spiva Library.

She is the wife of Mike Gage, a worship ministry team leader with the First Christian Church of Lamar.
