Springfield - Long-time civic, community and Republican leader David H. Jones, pictured, will be the seventh district chairman of the Nodler for Congress Committee, according to an announcement by Senator Gary Nodler on February 22, 2010. Jones is developing Nodler Leadership Committees in each of the 10 counties in the district to create opportunities for the candidate to meet and listen to voters' concerns.
A native of Pierce City, Jones currently is a member of the Missouri Southern State University Board of Governors and president of the board of the Harold Bell Wright/Pierce City Museum restoration project. He attended Joplin Junior College and graduated from Pittsburg State University before working for the Missouri Department of Corrections as a probation and parole officer. He then attended the University of Arkansas Law School before initially opening a law office in Joplin. He was appointed as an assistant U.S. attorney/federal prosecutor assigned to the Kansas City/Springfield office. He is retired from a law practice he began in 1978 in Springfield.
Commented Nodler, “David Jones has been an advisor to me since he was my commander of Headquarters Company, National Guard 203rd Engineer Combat Battalion based in Joplin. David retired after 36 years of service in the Guard after serving with thousands of other Guardsmen now living in Southwest Missouri. He has served as a Republican committeemen [sic] and helped lead Republican campaigns through the years. Since retirement David is now involved in veterans' affairs and senior citizen issues which are central to my campaign for Congress.” Go Back |
