| The Everyday Heroes Recognition and Awards Ceremony sponsored by the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross is being planned. Nominations for this event are needed. They could be for someone that has shown great courage, made an impact on someone's life or who has volunteered helping others on a regular basis. A selection committee composed of former recipients and community leaders will be asked to choose the heroes nominated that have performed heroic acts in the calendar year 2010. The deadline for submitting names for the Joplin event is February 1, 2011.

Participating in individual events will be Red Cross affiliates from Joplin, Lebanon, Nevada, Springfield and West Plains. The event in Joplin will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on March 11, 2011 with a location to be announced.
