Singers wanted for Messiah performance staff
Updated: 2012-01-18 14:04:04
JOPLIN – Singers are being sought for the Missouri Southern State University Concert Chorale/Orchestra's performance of Messiah, Georg Friedrich Handel's famous oratorio. It will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 15, 2012, at an off-campus location to be announced. The call for performers will begin at 1 p.m.

Community rehearsals are from 2-4:30 p.m. on these Sundays: February 19, 26; March 4, 11, 25 and April 1. They will take place in Room 208 of the Fine Arts building on the MSSU campus. Performance week practices will take place from 7-9 p.m. on April 9, 11 and 12. Soloists will rehearse from 7-9 p.m. on April 13. A dress rehearsal will be held from noon–3 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 14.

“We want as many people who are able to join us to please do so, but we also ask if you make a commitment to sing, to please make it a point to be at all of the rehearsals,” Dr. David L. Sharlow says.

Those with questions may contact Sharlow by e-mail here or phone (417) 625-9562.
