PFH to break ground for new facilities staff
Updated: 2012-05-02 13:16:51
Preferred Family Healthcare with corporate headquarters in Kirksville, Missouri had facilities at 20th and Kansas in Joplin when the the May 22, 2011 tornado hit. Luckily, six adolescent consumers and two staff members in the group home at the time were not casualties.

Their new almost completed facility 32-bed adolescent substance abuse facility narrowly escaped destruction and subsequently was given over to St. John's, filling a critical need at the request of the Missouri Dept. of Mental Health. Currently, they are offering adolescent outpatient and residential substance abuse rehabilitation at 4710 E. 32nd St., Joplin.

Now PFH will be breaking ground on May 4, 2012, for another new facility. Their new location is near the intersection of 32nd Street and Central City Road in Joplin. The program is expected to be in operation in the spring 2013.

PFH is a comprehensive behavioral health non-profit organization providing substance abuse treatment/prevention and mental health service serving Missouri and Kansas.
