Jim Devine, formerly assistant director of the high school and junior high bands and director of the middle school band, is shown conducting the Webb City Symphonic Band at a concert held on May 8, 2012, in the Barton Theatre of the Webb City High School. He officially has accepted the baton from Diana Williams, who will be leaving to accept a position at Lovejoy Independent School District in Lucas, Texas, beginning fall 2012. Devine will become lead band director in the Webb City School instrumental music program and will focus on the concert band. He is entering his seventh year with Webb City Schools in a music teaching career that has spanned more than 23 years. Other personnel include Jason Long who will continue to oversee the percussion program. Becky Long, currently the high school choir director will be in charge of the marching band and the junior high band director. Interviews currently are underway to hire a director to oversee the brass section and jazz band.
