Work is sought from disabled writers/artists

VSA Missouri, an affiliate of The John F.Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, wants to showcase some of the best contemporary work of artists and writers in Missouri who have disabilities. A call for submissions is being made for art, poetry, short fiction and short non-fiction (no longer than 1000 words) for the third edition of an anthology that will be published in the spring of 2013 and widely distributed throughout the state of Missouri and beyond. The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2013.

Any adult (18+) who is a Missouri artist or writer who has a disability is eligible to submit work. Professional as well as emerging artists and writers are encouraged to enter. Both previously published (with proper credit) and new work will be accepted.

Submit by e-mail up to three copies of pieces of writing and/or copies of three visual images (paintings, works on paper, sculpture and original digital images or photographs (300 dpi no smaller than 8" in any direction or 8"x10") as a CD file attachment here (put "Anthology Submission" in the subject line or mail a CD to: VSA arts of Missouri, P.O. Box 58624, St. Louis, MO 63158, including notification information.

Selected contributors each will receive two copies of the published anthology, a $25 honorarium and opportunities to participate in readings and other public events. Contributors whose work is accepted will be notified by mail or e-mail no later than February 1, 2013.
