| Applications are due by April 16, 2013, for the first formal internship program sponsored by the Missouri Division of Tourism (MDT). Offered to Missouri college students and recent college graduates or those with a permanent Missouri address, the program is designed to help launch careers in travel, hospitality and film. Opportunities, depending on funding and interest, will be available during the 2013 summer and fall semesters and the 2014 spring semester.
“In our experience, students and recent graduates bring a high level of enthusiasm to their work and often offer innovative ideas and new perspectives. Those ideas and perspectives can help shape campaigns that fulfill our mission of increasing visitation and visitor spending in Missouri,” said Katie Steele Danner, director of MDT.
Areas of focus will include photography and videography because as part of its economic development mission, MDT currently manages the Missouri Film Office which works to grow the film industry statewide. Other areas include marketing and public relations and social media.
