| A new Mother’s Brewing Company beer begins hitting the Springfield market today (Mar. 25, 2013), with other markets to follow closely behind. "Spring Batch" represents Mother’s first-ever spring seasonal beer, according to an announcement by company spokesperson Jeremy Wicks.
"Best described as a 'farmhouse ale,' Spring Batch is an unfiltered, medium-bodied beer inspired by a beer style that originated in the French-speaking region of Belgium and was traditionally brewed by farmers," Wicks said. "Like all of Mother’s seasonal beers, the character of Spring Batch was designed to complement the season of its release."
Wicks further described the beer as balancing "earthy, floral and slight yeast flavors with a touch of fruity hop” and that it is "refreshing and has a bright, dry finish, perfect for springtime sipping.”
But you don’t have to drink it alone. This seasonal beer is said to pair nicely with springtime favorites such as grilled asparagus, spring salads and deviled eggs.
Spring Batch is the first new beer release for Mother’s Brewing Company this year. Three other seasonal beers will be released in 2013 to coincide with the change of the seasons. The Mother’s 2013 lineup will also include new beers in the Mother’s Others line, as well as a continual supply of Mother’s year-round offerings: Towhead, Lil’ Helper and Three Blind Mice.
