| Ozarks Property Rights Congress will sponsor a Firearms Freedom Symposium in Springfield, It will take place beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2013 (doors open at 3 p.m.), at Remington's Event Center, 1655 W. Republic Rd.
With the increasing frequency of both state and federal legislation that infringe on the firearms freedoms secured in the United States through the Second Amendment, the need for citizens concerned with freedom to be well informed, connected and properly grounded is imperative, according to the organization's spokesperson, Mike Slack.
Confirmed speakers for the event include, Sheriff Richard Mack of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association; John Weaver, a firearms instructor; Ted Weiland, author and preacher, and Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America. Stewart Rhodes of Oathkeepers is unconfirmed for the event, but a representative for the organization will be speaking if Rhodes cannot attend.
The focus of this symposium will be a discussion of the actual effects on a nation under gun control measures. Historical effects and mechanisms used to achieve these restrictions will be elaborated upon, along with effective actions to fight these infringements, At the end of the speaker’s presentations there will be a question and answer round table session.
Eric Vimont, the chief coordinator for the event, thinks that, “history shows, gun control is a direct path to tyranny....."
The event is free to the public; donations are welcomed.
