100th anniversary event features 1940s music

An evening of entertainment and dancing will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jul. 6, 2013, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Webb City Library. The event with the theme, the Big Band Era of the 1940s, will take place at the Route 66 Event Center, Main and Broadway in downtown Webb City.

Susan Benson Crutcher and her parents Bruce and Jane Benson will start the evening with dance instruction followed by a group of performers from the Pinocchio Dancers with choreography by Angela Lowe. Cecie and Chet Fritz, Jerry Holcomb and Bruce Benson will provide the music for a 1940s dance. A state resolution presented to the Webb City Library by Senator Ron Richard will be read.
