Words from the new state chair
Roy Temple says he is "excited" but "anxious" after being elected the new chair of the Missouri Democratic Party. Calling the super-majority status of the Republicans in the Missouri legislature "worse than we could have ever imagined," he cited bills like HB 253 that, he said, " would have given the average Missourian a tax cut big enough to buy a Big Mac," yet would have devastated funding for citical services and raised taxes on prescription drugs. He praised Gov. Jay Nixon for vetoing 29 such bills.
He says what the Party needs are people willing to fight to win elections and the funding to help them do that.
