Shop "Fair Trade"

Looking for unique holiday gifts with a socially conscious twist? Are you a collector of unique items?

Global Crafts, 1508 E. Republic Rd., Springfield in the Steeplechase Centre, a "Fair Trade" shop, has a selection of products made by artisans in the U.S. and around the world. Global Crafts has an alliance with Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade retailer since 1946.

Products include Christmas related items including nativity scenes made from olive wood, jewelry, women's clothing, decorative items and food products such as coffee and tea baskets.

The manager of this non-profit is Gary Jones (you may know him as a Master Gardener of Greene County). He is also treasurer of the six member board that runs the shop that formerly was located on S. Glenstone Avenue.

Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Looking for something in particular? For information phone (417) 889-0384.
