Tour new Joplin fire stations staff
Updated: 2014-01-13 14:45:17
Joplin Mayor Melodee Colbert-Kean, City officials, and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the public on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, to join them in a ribbon cutting and open house for the two new fire stations in Joplin that had been destroyed in the 2011 tornado.

Six fire stations currently serve Joplin's 45-square mile area. The two new ones were relocated after an extensive review of the the city's needs, including the goal of meeting a four-minute response time.

Open house hours are:

  • Station #2, 2825 W. Junge Blvd. (northeast corner of 13th & Schifferdecker) from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Station # 4, 3402 Hearnes Blvd. from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
