Informational session for veterans is planned staff
Updated: 2014-03-20 11:03:47
A Veterans Enterprise Forum will take place from 11:45 a.m. to about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 27, 2014, in Cornell Auditorium of the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University-Joplin. Sponsored by the Missouri Southern State University Small Business & Technology Development Center and the Center for Entrepreneurship, the free event hopes to provide American veterans and military personnel with information about available educational, business, financial and governmental programs and services. It features presentations about veterans programs, networking opportunities and lunch.

After a ceremony by the honor guard of the Joplin High School JROTC, Karen Bradshaw, director of the MSSU Center for Entrepreneurship will welcome Charlie Davis (R-162), chairman of the Veterans Committee of the Missouri House of Representatives. After the talk by Davis, representatives from Liberty Bank and the SBA will discuss SBA and VA Home Loans to round out the morning session. After a free lunch break, the afternoon sessions will include information about health care, educational financial aid and clinical counseling and testing.
