Local student to participate in farmer program
July 09, 2015
Jade Morgan of Lamar, an agriculture student at Crowder College in Neosho, was one of four Missouri students to be part of a larger national group to participate in the 2015 New Century Farmer program. Selected by the national FFA, 50 young people from across the United States committed to pursing a career in production agriculture will take part in an intensive seminar from July 12-18, 2015, in Johnstown, Iowa.

The New Century Farmer program is sponsored by DuPont Pioneer; Case IH; CSX Corporation; and Farm Credit with media partner Successful Farming as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. Topics will include the global marketplace, farm financing, demographic trends and risk management. New Century Farmers will hear from motivating and informative keynote speakers who will educate them on the risk and rewards involved with production agriculture. In addition to classroom learning, students will experience the latest developments in agricultural technology.

Other students from Missouri are Monica Campen of Canton, Emilee Haubner of Auxvasse and Cody Jones of Fulton.
