The second Citizens Academy hosted by the city of Joplin will take place from March 1 to May 10, 2016, on Tuesdays from 5-8 p.m. Classes will be held at the Joplin City Hall, 602 S. Main, with the city providing transportation to other city facilities when scheduled.

The 11-week course offers Joplin residents, business owners and people who work in Joplin the opportunity to interact with local officials, tour city facilities and learn how to get more involved in the community. Participants will meet every department head and get an overview of the services and programs offered in each department. A maximum of 25 people with preference given to residents will be selected on a first-come, first served basis with others placed on a wait-list.
