Enjoy jazz, car show; benefit Crowder Foundation
February 25, 2016
Two events in April 2016 benefit the Crowder College Foundation.

An Evening of Jazz - the Fabulous 40s, a night of music, great food and dancing, will take place beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 26, at the Neosho Civic, 109 W. Main, Neosho. The event sponsored by the Clark Funeral Home will be emceed by Gary Bandy, retired KODE-TV news and weather anchor.

Formed in 2005, the Crowder Jazz Orchestra grew out of a love for traditional big-band jazz music and the need for a community-based ensemble in the Crowder College service region. Under the direction of Todd Hastings and featuring Rebecca Luebber Ensor on vocals, the 18-piece band presents a repertoire ranging from classic jazz standards to arrangements by today's leading big band composers and arrangers.

CJO connects with audiences of all musical tastes and often presents public concerts in tandem with educational outreach events. The band includes members who have collectively played with musical greats including Aretha Franklin, Ben Vereen, Doc Severinsen, Joe Williams, Henry Mancini, Wayne Newton, the Woody Herman Orchestra, Bob Mintzer, and others.

Tickets are $30 per guest or $275 for reserved tables for eight. For more information, call (417) 455-5701. Click here to purchase tickets.
