Help ID remaining lost photos

National Disaster Photo Rescue, a non-profit organization of volunteers from Carthage Missouri, from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016, will hold a 'Reunification Event' of the Lost Photos of Joplin Project at the Joplin Public Library, 3rd & Main, Joplin. This will be their final event. A public viewing of all photos, documented in multiple binders, will be available. Volunteers from the National Disaster Photo rescue collected 35,000 photos and have returned 17, 720 helping 700 families to reunite with the lost documents.

"Boxes" with photos have been posted online here. Photos claimed prior to Saturday, May 20, 2016, will be available for pick-up at the event. A link to the claim form and instructions are listed.

After the event, the Lost Photos of Joplin collection forever will be housed at the Joplin Museum Complex in Schifferdecker Park, Joplin. For future inquiries phone the museum at (417) 623-2341.

The National Disaster Photo Rescue organization (501c3) formed after the Joplin tornado and is a ministry of First Baptist Church in Carthage. National Disaster Photo Rescue is dedicated to the preservation and return of lost photos after a disaster, thus building renewed strength and hope by reuniting communities with treasured memories thought to have been destroyed.
