Joplin foster care office relocates
May 27, 2016
The Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services of Missouri has announced a new location for its Joplin office. It is Suite 101 at 2650 E. 32nd St. Kelly Turk serves as director of services for both Springfield and Joplin.

In Missouri, approximately 9,800 youth are in foster care. Last year, PCHAS served 572 foster children across the state. Foster Care Case Managers facilitated 59 adoptions and 43 guardianships. They reunited 148 families.

The agency is especially proud of how a child named "Baby Daniel" addicted to heroin placed in foster care under their direction was able to become drug-free and meeting all the milestones of a healthy one-year-old.

A foster family provides a safety net for children whose biological families are no longer willing or able to care for them. Many of these children have faced physical or emotional abuse. The case managers surround the child and the foster family with the love and guidance they need, Turk explains.

To contact the Joplin office phone (417) 691-8506.
