| Your son or daughter is a new driver and is coming home from the local grocery store. It's raining. Your child is almost home when the car starts to skid on the wet pavement. Will he or she know how to react to avoid a crash?
Crowder College's skidpad on the Neosho campus, a hands-on, interactive approach to show how vehicles handle in various weather conditions, is open to teen drivers for one-day classes this spring. Classes are from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. A minimum of six students are required to hold class.
Dates are:
- March 6
- March 20
- April 10
- April 17
- May 8
- May 22
- June 5
- June 19
Students will demonstrate stopping/braking with and without anti-lock brakes,learn braking and steering to maintain control and demonstrate off-road recovery without over-correcting, all on the Neosho college's large asphalt skidpad.
