Workshops to enhance teaching children vbryan
Updated: 2013-10-20 15:37:25
University of Missouri Extension will offer two workshops on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, for childcare and foster care providers, parents and those interested in youth. They will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. at the Jasper County University of Missouri Extension office, Courthouse Basement, Carthage. The deadline to register is November 1.

Dr. Jim Wirth, human development specialist with the University of Missouri Extension will present four sessions on these topics: science for young thinkers, art appreciation 101 for young children, sparking kids’ curiosity and what does “time” mean to children?

"These workshops are conducted locally to help child care providers meet the certification requirements to provide quality child care and education," Wirth said.

A registration fee of $15 will be charged for each three-hour workshop. To register for the training, contact the Jasper County University of Missouri Extension office at (417) 358-2158.

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance with credit for clock hour training regardless of how many sessions attended.
