Motorcycle rider critically injured on Range Line

Update: The Joplin Police Department on October 2, 2013, was informed that Julie Lybarger-Johnson has died from injuries sustained in the motor cycle accident.

The Joplin Police Department continues to follow up on the injury crash that occurred in the area of 12th and Range Line in the morning of October 1, 2013. The driver of the motorcycle involved has been identified as Julie Lybarger-Johnson, a 46-year-old female from Webb City. She is currently at Freeman West hospital and is listed in critical condition. The driver of the passenger car has been identified as Raina McAlister, a 39-year-old female from Joplin.

The motorcycle was south bound on Range Line. The passenger vehicle was facing east on 11th and pulled onto Range Line to go south. The motorcycle then collided with the passenger car.

The investigation of the crash is being conducted by the Joplin Police Departments Major Crash Team and is ongoing.
